This time, we will have the pre-opening of the new "WNA Resort" visual lobby, and we've also added the Ninja Gum Lab where you can make your Gum Weapons stronger, to make this Season even more fun.
In addition, we've added the new Turnabout Guard Shinobi Card, as well as the "Last Ninja Standing" and "Turf Match" rules to Room Battles, and made other UI improvements.

Introducing the Ninja Gum Lab!

The Ninja Gum Lab, where you can strengthen your Gum Weapons with research, will be added in Season 9.

Research grants various effects, such as increasing your maximum Life and the damage you deal.
*Note that research effects may not be used in some tournaments.

A new resource called Research Points will be needed to conduct research on Gum Weapons.
Research Points can be obtained from the Free Pass, Ninjala Pass, and WNA Tours rewards.

Come get into the vacationing spirit by organizing a party, or just using emotes together!

About the Visual Lobby

The Visual Lobby is a new lobby where up to 30 players can get together and interact with each other or just head straight to battle.
You can also recruit and join parties, so try heading to Team Battles with players in the same lobby!
In addition, the Visual Lobby is a combat-free zone, so let's get along with everyone!

Things you can do in the visual lobby

You can perform almost all non-attack actions in the Visual Lobby, such as moving around or Gum Boost.
Also, you can use the same functions as in your Base, just with some restrictions.

How to enter the same Visual Lobby as your friends

You can enter the same Visual Lobby as your friends by inviting them to your Base and forming a party.
After the battle is over, you can also return to the WNA Resort that you left from by selecting Cancel in the Results screen.

The Visual Lobby will be improved and will receive new functions and exclusive gadgets over the upcoming seasons.
We will bring you more information at a later date.

UI Improvements

Addition of Quick Team Battle to the PvP Menu

You can play Team Battle Free Matches right away from the top of the PvP Menu.
*The stage will be selected at random.

Addition of Featured Battles to Room Battles

Addition of Featured Battles to Room Battle selection.
You can now choose from the following two types of rules for Season 9.
・Last Ninja Standing!
・Turf Match!

Changes to Rewards Displayed in Battle Results

Reward details will now be displayed in battle results.
Ninjala Pass Tier Rewards that you have obtained will also be shown in battle results.

Addition of Ability to Commence Matching When in a Party

When the leader starts matching when in a party, you will now be able to start from the Base PvP menu button as well.
You can still start matching from the party menu as well.

Addition of Option Settings

An option to regulate your Assist Code Levels has been added to Battle Settings in Options.
Turning on this option will set your equipped Assist Codes to regulation levels even during Ninjala Battles and Training.

Other UI Improvements

・Ninja-Gum will now be consumed in Featured Battles.

・It is now possible to refresh Ninja Missions when in the matching lobby.

・The number of digits displayed for how many Gumball Machine Coin and Medals you own has been adjusted.

・Increased the number of items displayed in the ranking in the Top Page of the Shinobi Shop.

Gum Weapon Parameter Adjustments

The Ninjala development team is dedicated to ensuring that players can enjoy a wide variety of battling styles.
After careful observation of winning percentages and popularity by gum weapon and Shinobi Cards, we have implemented a host of balance adjustments.

The main adjustments are that the hammer-type weapons, SK8 Hammer, Sushi Axe, GR8 Gear, Iron Noise, Drum Beat, Pop Eye, and Cerberus have been made easier to handle, and the strengthening of Paw-xing Gloves and Ogre Gloves.
In addition, the performance of break attacks overall and the Parry battle system have also received adjustments.

We hope these refinements will allow players to continue to enjoy diverse styles of play in Ninjala battles.

IPPON Katana Scroll Blade Shinobuzz Paper Fan

・The homing abilities of the 1st stage of normal attacks have been increased.
・Combo chain timing of the 1st stage of wide attacks has been sped up.
・The homing abilities of their Break Attacks have been increased.

Since it was somewhat difficult to hit moving targets, homing abilities have been increased to give you more chances to attack.
It was also difficult to keep combo after the 1st stage of wide attacks due to lag, so it has been adjusted to chain more easily.

Drill Beast Corn Bat Bird Drill

・The homing abilities of the 1st stage of normal attacks have been increased.
・Break Attacks have received the following adjustments:
 Slowed the occurrence of attacks.
 Decreased homing ability.
・Made it so the advance that occurs when the dive attack of Here and There hits does not stop.

Since the occurrence and homing of Break Attacks had previously been strengthened, they became much harder to dodge in time so they have been weakened.
However, since it is now easier to chain combos with Here and There's dive attack due to the strengthening of normal attacks, it will be easier to use with surprise attacks.

Scrap Saber Chewing V

・It is now easier to chain combos with normal attacks.
・You will now move less far when attacking with back attacks.
・Wide attacks have received the following adjustments:
 Increased homing ability.
 Slowed cancel timing for jumping and dodging when attacks miss.
・The homing abilities of their Break Attacks have been increased.
・Relaxed the rate at which Bumpy Box's attack would increase.

The risk when some attacks miss was lower than other weapons, so various adjustments have been made.
Also since it is now easier to increase the damage dealt by Froggy Block by defeating opponents, it has been made into a weapon that is easier to move around and attack with.

SK8 Hammer Sushi Axe GR8 Gear

・Normal attacks have received the following adjustments:
 Hit detection range has been increased.
 Increased homing ability.
 Slightly increased ninjutsu gauge rate of increase.
 Sped up combo chain timing.
・Back attacks have received the following adjustments:
 Hit detection range has been increased.
 Sped up combo chain timing.
 Cancel timing of Special attack hits have been sped up.
・Changed the 1st hit of wide attacks, and made overall adjustments.
・Wide attacks variations have received the following adjustments:
 Increased the distance that normal attack variations move, and sped up combo chain timing.
 Increased the distance that wide attack variations move, and adjusted the increase to damage and the Ninjutsu Gauge.
・The homing abilities of their Break Attacks have been increased.
・The following adjustments have been made to “Power Buster”.
 Accelerated occurrence.
 Increased homing ability.

Since the overall large movements of this weapon made it difficult to make tight turns, its attacks have been adjusted and made easier to use.
Since wide attacks in particular now occur faster and move a greater distance, it will give you more chances to attack with them.
If you actively go for IPPONs and have the effects of Iron Body active, you'll be able to go on even greater rampages with this weapon.

Iron Noise Drum Beat

・Normal attacks have received the following adjustments:
 Increased ninjutsu gauge rate of increase.
 Sped up combo chain timing.
 Sped up cancel timing when jumping and dodging when attacks hit.
 Increased the duration of hits.
 Downtime has been decreased.
・Back attacks have received the following adjustments:
 Accelerated the occurrence of attacks.
 Slowed down combo chain timing.
 You will now move further when attacking.
 Sonic bullets will now appear.
・Changed the 1st hit of wide attacks, and made overall adjustments.
・Break Attacks have received the following adjustments:
 Increased homing ability.
 Sonic bullets have been removed.
・Sped up cancel timing when jumping, dodging, and attacking with Echoing Scream.
・Increased the Cooldown recovery amount for Feedback.

Since this is the slowest out of all the weapons, its attack repertoire has been adjusted to be stronger.
Sonic bullets will now appear with back attacks, so that you can attack and defend at the same time.
The speed and strength of sonic bullets have been adjusted overall, and made especially effective for catching opponents at mid-range.
Wide attacks have been made to occur faster, and it will now be easier to use them to close the distance between you and your opponent.
Also, Echoing Scream and normal attacks are now easier to use in order to more easily defeat opponents consecutively with this weapon.

Pop Eye Cerberus

・The homing abilities of the 1st stage of normal attacks have been increased.
・Increased recovery rate for the 1st-3rd stages of normal attacks.
・Increased the duration of hits for the 1st-2nd stages of normal attacks.
・Adjusted back attacks overall, and made it easier to hit and chain combos with them.
・Wide attacks have received the following adjustments:
 Increased homing ability.
 Extended invincibility time.
 Sped up combo chain timing.
 Sped up Special cancel timing when jumping and dodging when attacks hit.
 Reduced time opponents are immobilized after guarding.
・The homing abilities of their Break Attacks have been increased.
・Relaxed the rate at which Eat Alive's life recovery rate would increase.

Since it was difficult to defeat opponents with this weapon, its attacks have been adjusted to give it more fighting power.
The combo chain timing when charging with back attacks has also been sped up, so the distance moved and Super Armor have also been adjusted.
Wide attacks were strong when used to counter other attacks and chain combos, so we have made it easier to defeat opponents with them when used with back attacks.
It is now also easier to increase the recovery rate of Eat Alive, so you'll be able to increase your score even more by using it aggressively in battle.

Ninja Yo-yo Shinobi Spinner ASAKUSA Wheel

・Break Attacks have received the following adjustments:
 Increased homing ability.
 Shortened active duration of attacks.

Since it was difficult to hit opponents that don't move much with Break Attacks, they have been strengthened.
The increase to homing ability made them too strong in close-range, so their active duration has also been adjusted.

Extreme Motor DJ Scratch

・The 1st stage of normal attacks have received the following adjustments:
 Slowed the occurrence of attacks.
 Slowed the speed at which Super Armor is applied.
 Decreased charge speed.
 Shortened the timing at which a jump cancel can be performed.
・Wide attacks have received the following adjustments:
 Slowed cancel timing for jumping and dodging when attacks miss.
 Slowed down Special cancel timing and combo chain timing when attacks hit.
・Break Attacks have received the following adjustments:
 Increased homing ability.
 You will now move less far when attacking.
 Shortened active duration of attacks.
 Slowed cancel timing for jumping and dodging when attacks miss.
・The following adjustments have been made to "Bumpy Accelerator":
 Cooldown time has been reduced.
 Time remaining for Specials will now be reduced when dodging with Bumpy Accelerator.

We have determined that the 1st stage of normal attacks and wide attacks were too strong since they gave chances to attack, and have weakened them.
However, since the Cooldown time of Bumpy Accelerator has been lowered, it will work great for fighting over drones.
In addition, Bumpy Accelerator was unintentionally given invincibility against Gum Shoots in the Ver. 8.1 Update, but considering the Gum Weapon adjustments in this update, this feature will remain.

Mellow à la Mode Trick Ball

・The homing abilities of their Break Attacks have been increased.
・When dealing an IPPON against an opponent that has been forcibly transformed, they will now be sent flying away in their transformed state.

Break Attacks have been strengthened since they weren't able to break opponents when Beyond the Gum could not be used.
We have also made it much more satisfying to deal IPPONs against forcibly transformed opponents.

Matsuri Board Camu Camu Plate Ninja Carpet

・The following adjustments have been made to the 1st stage of normal attacks and back attacks:
 Decreased damage.
 Slowed the occurrence of attacks.
 Slowed down combo chain timing.
 You will now move farther when attacking.
 Increased homing ability.
・It is now easier to chain combos with the 2nd-3rd stage of normal attacks and back attacks.
・The 1st stage of wide attacks have received the following adjustments:
 Decreased damage.
 Slowed the occurrence of attacks.
・Increased damage dealt from the 2nd-3rd stage of wide attacks.
・Decreased damage dealt from the 4th stage of wide attacks.
・The homing abilities of their Break Attacks have been increased.
・The following adjustments have been made to Sweet Ride:
 Enhanced the attack up multiplier from Trick.
 Slowed the riding speed, and adjusted the speed up rate from Trick.
 Cooldown time has been reduced.
・Decreased damage dealt from parry wide attacks.

In addition to Sweet Ride's high mobility, it also had excellent attack capabilities, so the weapon has been adjusted as a whole.
The power and occurrence of its attacks have been weakened, and its capabilities when Sweet Ride is not being used have been lowered.
On the other hand, the Cooldown time of Sweet Ride has been shortened, giving you more chances to use it.
The starting speed when riding has been slowed and you will need to use Trick repeatedly to increase it, but its maximum attack is more powerful than before.
The proper use of Sweet Ride will now be necessary to increase your score.

Home Run Surfer Ninja Calibur

・Changed the number of hits for the 2nd stage of normal attacks and back attacks from 2 hits to 1 hit.
 There is no change to the total damage dealt.
・Sped up combo chain timing for the 1st-3rd stage of wide attacks.
・The homing abilities of their Break Attacks have been increased.
- The following adjustments have been made to "Overpowering Wave":
 Cancel timing for Gum Guard after surfing has been sped up.
 You can now continue surfing even if you are guarded against right after you start.
・The following adjustments have been made to The Boon:
 Removed the extra Gum Damage from surfing so that Gum Damage is only dealt from the wave.
 Increased the amount of extra gum damage.
 Increased the time of Gum Bind from the wave.
・Decreased damage dealt from parry wide attacks.

The Boon has been adjusted to be more effective since it lacked decisive power as a weapon.
Although extra Gum Damage is now only dealt by the wave, it is easier to Gum Bind and return with, so it has more power as a big weapon.
Its attacks have also been adjusted so that combos are faster and easier to chain, making it easier to reliably defeat opponents.

Paw-xing Gloves Ogre Gloves

・The 1st stage of normal attacks have received the following adjustments:
 Increased homing ability.
 Increased the duration of hits.
 You will now move less far when attacking.
・The homing abilities of the 1st stage of back attacks have been increased.
・The 2nd stage of back attacks have received the following adjustments:
 Slowed down combo chain timing.
 Hit detection range has been increased.
・Shortened the charging time for Lv 1-4 of wide attack charge.
・The 1st stage of normal attacks when activating Overflowing Power have received the following adjustments:
 Increased homing ability.
 You will now move farther when attacking.
・The homing abilities of the 1st stage of back attacks when activating Overflowing Power have been increased.
・Lv 1-4 of wide attack charge when activating Overflowing Power have received the following adjustments:
 Hit detection range has been increased.
 You will now move farther when attacking.
・The homing abilities of normal Break Attacks have been increased.
・Back Break Attacks have received the following adjustments:
 Accelerated the occurrence of attacks.
 You will now move farther when attacking.
 Increased homing ability.
・Wide Break Attacks have received the following adjustments:
 You will now move farther when attacking.
 Increased homing ability.
 Sped up cancel timing when jumping and dodging when attacks miss.
 Sped up cancel timing when jumping and dodging when attacks hit.
 Hit detection range has been adjusted to the front.
・Lowered the amount of effect time consumed by enhanced attacks when activating Overflowing Power.
・Increased attack movement distance.
 *Attack movement refers to the distance you move towards the opponent using Auto-proximity.

This weapon was great in close combat, but it has been strengthened since it lacked power overall.
Since attack movement has been increased and attack timing has been sped up, it will be easier to defeat opponents.
Attacks can also hit easier now, so it will be easier to fight at optimal distances.
There are now also more chances to use enhanced attacks after activating Overflowing Power, so you'll be able to attack more confidently.


Piercing Mixer

・Drones that appear will now be visible through walls when active.
・Behavior can now be interrupted when active.
・Increased damage, and shortened active duration of attacks.
 There is no change to the total damage dealt.

Since this Gum Ninjutsu had a large attack movement which made it risky to activate, it has been made easier to use.
You will still need to secure a safe spot to use it, but it is now easier to activate.

Blast Barrier

・Extended active duration of the barrier placed on yourself and your team.

The active duration of the barrier was too short so it has been strengthened.
You will now be able to rampage even more than before.


Gum Grenade

・Hit detection range of the ejected grenade has been increased.
・Shortened the time between explosion damage hits.

They were lacking in power and results compared to other Gum Shoots and have therefore been powered up.
It is now easier to Gum Bind using both the grenade directly and the explosions.


Utsusemi Master

・Utsusemi position can no longer be set when in Gum Guard.

Before, it was possible to set an Utsusemi right before defending as a counter while using Gum Guard, but it has been deemed too strong and was therefore adjusted.
You will now need to release Gum Guard to set an Utsusemi relative to an opponent before you, and Utsusemi can also be more easily interrupted now.


Battle Adjustments

Parry Adjustments

・Increased ninjutsu gauge rate of increase when winning a parry.
・Sped up combo chain timing for parry attacks.
It was difficult to keep combo after winning a parry due to lag, so it has been adjusted for easier combo chaining.
Ninjutsu gauge rate of increase has also been improved, so you will get more out of winning a parry.
Things could get a lot more interesting with Shinobi Cards specialized for parries.

Resolution of Known Issues

・Fixed an issue where attacks wouldn't hit if dodges and jumps were performed in a certain order.
・Fixed an issue where Here and There's dive attack was invincible against Gum Shoots.
・Fixed an issue where Room Battle rooms could sometimes not be entered.
・Fixed an issue where players would continuously fall directly after the battle started, making them unable to proceed.
・Fixed an issue where characters would sometimes not display properly after returning to Base after a battle.
・Various adjustments and bug fixes have been implemented to ensure a smooth and enjoyable gameplay experience.
